A Michigan man was rescued by firefighters after he hung upside down in his own basement — for 13 hours.

The man had lost his keys and tried to break into his own home amid flooding in the region Thursday, Detroit television station WDIV reported.

As he tried to get into the Detroit home, his foot got stuck in a window and he was left hanging upside down, the station reported.

Floodwaters were rising and coming within inches of his face when he was rescued, according to WDIV. His neighbor found him.

“I guess, when he climbed through, the window caught his feet and he was upside down,” the man’s neighbor told WDIV. “Since 1 o’clock this morning.”
