Downtown Long Beach is home for the Longines Masters of Los Angeles this weekend. This year’s indoor jumping competition takes place for the first time at the Long Beach Convention Center.
Some of the world’s best equestrians are competing in the prestigious event for top honors in the Grand Slam Indoor of Show Jumping, among them the most decorated equestrian in the United States, Richard Spooner, who explains the horses in this competition are older than two-to-three year olds competing at race tracks.
After this competition, the event travels to Paris in December and then to Hong Kong in February.

A different kind of horsepower event is happening in Pomona. This is the Lucas Oil Off Road Expo, where you will find ten acres of this year’s hottest off road vehicles, products, and accessories as well as Lucas Oil Off Road Racing demos.

This is the last weekend to see the work of artist Cindy Sherman at THE BROAD. “Cindy Sherman: Imitation of Life” is the first major museum show of Sherman’s work in Los Angeles in nearly 20 years, and the exhibition fills The Broad’s first-floor galleries with 120 works drawn primarily from the Broad collection with key loans from other institutions.
