Manhattan Beach police asked for help Wednesday after an 11-year-old girl reported an older man following her and inquiring about her address.
The incident, which police referred to as a “child annoyance,” occurred between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of 21st Street, where the girl was walking her dog, according to a statement from the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
The girl noticed the man following her on foot, and then he asked her if she lived at a certain address, police said.
The girl ran home and reported the interaction to her parents.
Officers said they searched the area but was unable to find anyone matching the man’s description.
The individual was described as 50 to 60 years old, possibly Filipino, thin and 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a blue shirt with gray pants.
