An 11-month-old baby boy died Tuesday after he was left unattended in a car with the windows rolled up for at least an hour in a Fresno neighborhood, police said.

Police received a call about 1:33 p.m. about a child who was left inside a Ford Taurus outside an apartment complex in the 900 block of West Griffith Way, Fresno Police Lt. Joe Gomez said.

When officers arrived, they found the child not breathing and unresponsive.

Officers performed CPR on the baby until paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Gomez said.
