Adam Nagourney, Los Angeles Bureau Chief of the New York Times, is my guest on this podcast “extra” edition of “Frank Buckley Interviews.” I wanted to speak with the former chief national political correspondent for The Times before the third and final debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, which takes place on Wednesday, October 19th. That’s why this podcast “extra” edition is being released outside of our regularly scheduled Wednesday podcast drop.

I first met Adam in 1999 when I was a correspondent for CNN based in the New York bureau and he was a Times political correspondent. At the time, we were both covering then First Lady Hillary Clinton’s run for a U.S. Senate seat from New York. Adam has been covering politics for The Times since 1996 and is a respected political analyst.

What can Donald Trump do in this third debate to reverse his slide in the polls? How should Hillary Clinton approach the debate? If Trump defies the pundits and the polls and wins the election, what would a Trump presidency look like? Would a President Hillary Clinton be able to pass any legislation if Republicans retain control of the House of Representatives? And what would former President Bill Clinton’s role be in a Hillary Clinton White House? These are among the questions that Adam Nagourney answers in this podcast extra.
