One man is dead and another is injured after a double shooting in Norwalk early Sunday morning, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.
Deputies were called to the 12000 block of Molette Street near the intersection of Artesia Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard around 2:30 a.m. after reports of shots fired.
There, they found two men on the street suffering from gunshot wounds, authorities said.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital where one man was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds, according to deputies.
"The second victim, he sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso," said Lt. Steve Jauch of the LASD. "He appears to be in stable condition. Right now we have homicide detectives here, we have our crime scene personnel here. There's a lot of evidence in the area."
The men were found on separate parts of the street several yards apart, Jauch added.
"We don't know if these two men were together when they were shot. We don't know if there was an altercation between the two men, if there was an additional suspect," said Jauch.
The victims are described as two Hispanic men. It is unclear if the shooters were on foot or in a vehicle.
