The incident happened in the early hours of Friday in an area near Alicia Parkway and Jeronimo Road, the Orange County Fire Authority said in a news release. Surveillance video shows the vehicle driving slowly, then stopping in front of a home. Authorities said the driver then threw fireworks at the home and sped off.

The fireworks ignited some nearby vegetation, flames reached more than 40 feet and initially endangered several homes, OCFA said in a released statement.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the vegetation.

No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged.

The suspect vehicle was described as a 4-door, mid-sized pickup truck, light in color and appeared to have dark fenders and dark rims. There is also distinctive lighting along the truck’s running boards, authorities said.
