Human Remains Found Near 10 Freeway On-Ramp in Claremont: Police

Human remains were found near a 10 Freeway on-ramp in Claremont Monday, officials said.

Claremont police were alerted of the remains by the California Highway Patrol about 12:25 p.m. on the eastbound on-ramp of the highway at Indian Hill Boulevard.

Transportation workers were about to clean up the road when they stumbled upon what they believed to be human bones.

CHP officials confirmed the bones were human and alerted investigators.

Officers and detectives responded to the area, cordoned off the scene and called for the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, police said.

The person’s identity and cause of death are under investigation.
