The incident occurred on Oct. 20 about 7 a.m. when two people in masks pried open the front door of OOTDFash, at 997 West San Bernardino Rd.

Video shows one of the burglars open the register then they both grab armloads of clothes and take off, knocking over a mannequin on their way out.

The small business owners said insurance won’t cover the loss, estimated at a few hundred dollars.

“It’s devastating to see someone try to come and take all of our hard work,” co-owner Elsy Guevara said.

Guevara, her sister and her brother-in-law, Erik Ornelas, started the business and ran it online for years before they were able to open their first brick and mortar store four months ago.

"I'm very frustrated," Ornelas said. "We worked hard to get where we are."

The siblings are now adding additional security measures and have shared the video with followers on Facebook and Instagram accounts in hopes that someone will recognize the burglars. Many people have left messages of support.

“It’s just great to know that they feel our pain,” Guevara said.

Covina Police Sgt. Gregg Peterson said there has been an increase in commercial burglaries over the past few months. The Oct. 20 incident remains under investigation, he said.
