The shooting was reported near the intersection of West 40th Place and Menlo Avenue about 8:15 p.m., said Lt. Chuck Springer with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers found the teen with a gunshot wound on the front porch of a home, said Capt. Darnell Davenport with the Police Department.

It was unclear if the shooting was gang related.
