El Monte police announced on Monday that the man wanted in the fatal shooting of a Jack in the Box employee may also be a suspect in the robbery of a Subway restaurant.

The robbery occurred Oct. 19 at the Subway located at 5200 Rivergrade Road in Irwindale around 7:23 p.m. The man was armed with a silver handgun when he robbed the restaurant and fled the scene, Irwindale police said.

He was seen wearing similar clothing and the same Halloween mask worn during the Jack in the Box attempted robbery and shooting.

Juan Manuel Vidal, 25, was shot and killed Oct. 21 during the robbery of the Jack in the Box. Police said it was unclear why the suspect opened fire on Vidal.

The suspect fled the fast food restaurant after the shooting and no money was taken.
