The Baytown Police Department said Jesse Dobbs, 21, was arrested Tuesday night on a charge of resisting arrest after an encounter with officers near Texas City, Texas, the agency said in a Facebook post.

An Amber Alert is still active for Dobbs’ girlfriend, Kristen Fritch, according to KIAH.

Officers made the grisly discovery around 11 a.m. Tuesday while performing a welfare check at the family home, authorities said. When police arrived at the residence, they found the bodies of Fritch’s 37-year-old mother, Cynthia Morris, and her 13-year-old sister, Breanna Pavilicek.

Both victims suffered at least one gunshot wound, according to investigators. A preliminary investigation revealed Morris’ daughter Kristin Fritch and the mother’s car were missing.

Authorities later found the car with Dobbs, who is believed to have knowledge of the homicide and possibly has information on the whereabouts of Fritch, according to the Facebook post.

Dobbs declined to provide investigators with details and remains in police custody, the Police Department said Wednesday evening.

Anyone with information regarding Fritch’s whereabouts is asked to call Baytown Crime Stoppers at 281-427-8477.
