50-Year-Old Woman Killed in West Adams Hit-and-Run Crash: LAPD
A woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in West Adams early Saturday, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.
The incident occurred as 50-year-old Iris Davis was crossing West Adams Boulevard outside the crosswalk near the intersection with Vineyard Avenue around 1:40 a.m., according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver of the truck did not stop, police said.
The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model, light-colored pickup truck, but it is unclear what make.
Davis had been accompanied by another woman, according to LAPD Sgt. Allan Rabina.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene, but the other woman was not injured.
“The victim unfortunately wasn’t directly behind her friend and didn’t make it to the other end of the street,” Rabina said.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be raised like an off-road vehicle, Rabina said. No further details about the vehicle or the incident were available.
