The unidentified boy was arrested on suspicion of homicide in the Tuesday night shooting at Veterans Park.

Two men in their 50s were socializing at the park when they were approached by “several juveniles from a local gang,” a Fontana Police Department news release stated.

A confrontation occurred and the two older men, who were not affiliated with a gang, were shot. Police were called to the scene about 7:10 p.m.

Both men were taken to a hospital, where one was pronounced dead and other was treated for a wound that was not life-threatening. Neither victim has been identified.

Four juveniles aged between 13 and 15 were taken into custody, including the homicide suspect, police said.

A 13-year-old and 15-year-old were interviewed and released.

Another 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of a probation violation.

Police are still working to identify other people who were at the scene of a shooting.
