A man was killed Saturday afternoon when he was struck by multiple vehicles while walking on the North 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills, according to California Highway Patrol.

The 25-to-30-year-old man was walking on the 101 Freeway just south of Woodlake Avenue when officers received the first call around 5:19 p.m.

The pedestrian was struck about a minute later, CHP authorities said.

CHP officials issued a SigAlert around 5:50 p.m., shutting down lanes 1, 2 and 3 while lane 4 remained open. All lanes reopened several hours later.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
