Glendale Man Jumps in Front of Train, Kills Himself After Slashing Wife’s Throat: Police

A Glendale man believed to have deliberately jumped in front of a moving train and killed himself Monday had slashed his estranged wife’s throat a day before, authorities say.

Glendale police had been looking for Henrik Manokian, 57, after identifying him as a suspect in the attack on his wife, according to Sgt. Robert William.

Manokian’s wife was found about 5:49 p.m. Sunday in the 3700 block of Mayfield Avenue in Glendale, he said in a statement.

The 50-year-old victim had a severe gash on her throat. She was taken to an area hospital, where she is recovering.
