2 LAPD Officers Injured When Patrol Car Crashes Into Building in Mid-City Area

Two Los Angeles Police Department officers were hospitalized early Tuesday morning after their patrol car crashed into a building in the Mid-City neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The crash occurred on La Cienega Boulevard just north of the 10 Freeway.

Video from the scene showed the two officers being taken away on stretchers and transported to a local hospital.

One of the officers was in a neck brace as he was placed onto the stretcher.

The conditions of the officers were unknown.

A witness, who identified himself only as Somz, said the patrol car did not have its lights and sirens on and was traveling at a high rate of speed when it swerved and crashed into the wall.

A light post and a road sign were also knocked over in the crash.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

La Cienega Boulevard between Sawyer Street and Cadillac Avenue was closed during the investigation.
