Jury Awards $35 Million to Ex-UCLA Football Star Who Had Leg Partially Amputated After Motorcycle Crash in ‘Negligently Designed’ Intersection

A jury has awarded $35 million to former UCLA football player Nick Ekbatani in a personal injury lawsuit against Caltrans for a "negligently designed" intersection. Ekbatani had to have part of his leg amputated after the July 2012 motorcycle crash that happened in a Redondo Beach intersection.
