Heavy Rain, Flooding Shut Down 5 Freeway in Sun Valley, 110 Freeway in South L.A.

Major flooding has caused the 5 Freeway in Sun Valley and the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles to close, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The 5 Freeway is shut down on both sides at Sheldon Street and traffic is being redirected.

Flooding also blocked traffic on the southbound 110 at Slauson Avenue and the northbound 110 at Vernon Avenue, officials said.
