The shooting occurred around midnight in the 5300 block of Orange Avenue.

Authorities arrived to find one man dead and two others wounded, a Long Beach Police Department spokesman Martinez said at the scene.

One of the wounded men later died at the hospital, according to Martinez.

The other man, who suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body, was expected to survive.

None of the victims have been identified by authorities.

The wife of one of the fatally shot victims said she was inside her house when she heard gunshots and tried to call her husband, Sonny Sourn, the wife's brother, said.

The victim’s wife eventually went outside and came across the crime scene, where she found the victims and saw a man running away, Sourn said.

The victim's wife believes the man may have been hanging out with the group in their garage before the shooting occurred.

Investigators have not released a description of the shooter or a possible motive.
