    Deputies Investigate Bomb Threat Called in to Los Angeles City College

    Sheriff’s deputies on the campus of Los Angeles City College were investigating possible bomb threat against the school after receiving suspicious phone call Friday evening. A search of the campus turned up nothing, according to deputies at the scene. Investigators said it appeared the caller may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No evacuations were ordered.

    Police were looking Friday for additional victims of a paroled sex-offender charged in attacks on two women this month in Long Beach. Miguel Avila, 19, was arrested Monday in Long Beach in connection with the attacks.     Police were searching for two men involved in a shooting at Pepe’s Video & Wireless in Pasadena that left a clerk wounded Friday night.
