    Authorities were searching Friday for possible additional victims of a former day care teacher arrested for alleged lewd acts on a 3-year-old family member.     Street Racing Suspected in Deadly Sylmar Crash

    Two people were killed and three others injured in a two-car collision in Sylmar that authorities believe may have been the result of street racing. The crash occurred just before 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 14000 block of San Fernando Road, according to Eric Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Authorities were looking for a third vehicle believed to be involved in the incident, police at the scene said. The vehicle was described only as a small silver car.

    CA Slaughterhouse Co-Owner Charged With Knowingly Selling Meat from Cancerous Cows

    A second former co-owner of the California slaughterhouse involved in a recall of nearly nine million pounds of meat was charged with knowingly processing and distributing meat from cancerous cows, court documents released this week say. Robert Singleton, co-owner of the Rancho Feeding Corporation in Petaluma, was primarily responsible for purchasing cattle and loading shipments for distribution, prosecutors say.     Man Facing Life in Prison in Beating Death of Girlfriend’s 2-Year-Old Daughter

    A Palmdale man pleaded no contest Wednesday to second-degree murder in the beating death of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter last September. Matthew Worthen, 24, was left home alone with Zanai Noel for only a few minutes when he assaulted her, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.     An Amber Alert issued in the abduction of a 4-year-old boy from the Inyo County community of Bishop was canceled Thursday night. The boy was allegedly abducted Tuesday by his mother, identified as 43-year-old Angel Jacoba Schat, according to an alert from the California Highway Patrol. Schat and the boy were located Thursday night. No other information was released.
