I used to deliver produce, now I deliver the news.
Yes, it’s true. My first job after graduating college at Hofstra University on Long Island, was for my dad’s small produce company in the Bronx, NY.
From my humble experience, I knew I wanted more out of life for a career and it didn’t include sitting in a cubicle, talking on the phone and counting the hours left in the day.
As a reporter, now the only time I am watching the clock, is when I am hoping there is more time.
Geographically, I have been very lucky throughout my broadcasting career. I started at WICZ-TV in Binghamton, NY, which was close enough to my home in Northern New Jersey where my lovely mother could still do my laundry. I then traded my snow ski’s for water ski’s and moved to Fort Myers, Florida where I was mainly a traffic anchor for WBBH-TV. I never in a million years pictured living on the west coast, but accepting a job at KFMB-TV in San Diego, turned out to be the greatest decision I have ever made. After 5 years of covering the news in “America’s Finest City,” I knew I didn’t want to leave Southern California.
To move my career forward, it was LA or bust; Better yet, it was KTLA or bust.
I always felt my personality and the style in which I deliver the news was a perfect fit for KTLA’s innovative, informative and fun format. In March of 2012, I was lucky enough to find a position inside the historic newsroom and call myself a member of this outstanding team.
While in Los Angeles, you’ll mostly find this self-proclaimed, “concert going fool,” taking advantage of all the amazing live music venues this city offers. I am also very fortunate to have my younger brother also call SoCal home, because now I have a beautiful nephew and niece who I try to visit every opportunity I get.
