Babies in the Los Angeles area need our help. Let’s take action for them together!

The KTLA 5 Diapers & Suds Drive is kicking off its inaugural launch on Wednesday, May 10th in the KTLA 5 Morning News, with
The Honest Company’s donation of 1000 disposable diapers and 1000 bottles of laundry detergent.

KTLA 5 is also partnering with The LA Regional Food Bank and Southland food banks to collect diapers and laundry detergent for local children and their families. If you’d like to help, you have options.

About This Effort

KTLA has learned local babies were going without clean diapers, putting them at increased risk for illness and abuse. The families in need each had a different story.

Some were down on their luck, facing a sudden job loss or financial hardship. Others were fleeing domestic violence with next to nothing. We wanted to help, so we’re joining with The LA Regional Food Bank and Southland food banks for The Diapers & Suds Drive.

What About Cloth?

Cloth diapers are a terrific option for many parents; reducing environmental impact and providing a tremendous cost-saving potential. Unfortunately, they are not for everyone.

Many low-income parents juggle two jobs, limiting the time they can commit to a cloth regimen. Others lack access to a washer/dryer or a stable home environment.

Perhaps the biggest need though, stems from daycare policies. Most will only accept disposables.
