LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — A San Fernando Valley woman accused of being involved in a decade-old child pornography case appeared before a federal judge on Tuesday.

The arraignment for Letha Mae Montemayor, 52, was originally scheduled for Monday, but it was delayed after she suffered a seizure while in lockup.

Montemayor also had a seizure when police arrested her last Thursday outside an apartment complex in North Hills.

Her arraignment was continued to Feb. 13.

Investigators had been searching for Montemayor after they recovered a series of photos in which a man and a woman are seen molesting a girl about 13 years old.

The man from in the photographs has not been identified, nor has the victim.

It’s believed that the photos, which were widely distributed, were taken about 11 years ago at an apartment in the San Fernando Valley.

Montemayor is charged with conspiracy and production of child pornography.

Each count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison.

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Federal investigators have arrested a woman believed to be involved in a decade-old child pornography case with ties to the L.A. area.

Letha Montemayor, 52, was arrested outside an apartment complex in North Hills around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

porn-chick-arrestedThe arrest came less than 10 hours after authorities released photos of an unidentified man and woman being sought in a child sexual exploitation case.

At around 2 p.m. on Thursday, ICE Homeland Security Investigations special agents received a call to their tip line about the woman’s possible identity.

They received several additional corroborating leads after that, ICE officials said, and placed Montemayor under surveillance before making the arrest.

Montemayor is charged in a federal criminal complaint with one count of production of child pornography.

The complaint alleges that “Jane Doe,” now believed to be Montemayor, was involved in the production of a widely circulated series of child porn images taken about 11 years ago.

The pictures show an adult man and woman sexually molesting a girl who appears to be about 13.

They were first discovered by HSI special agents in Chicago in 2007.

Forensic analysis of the images led investigators to conclude that they were produced in the L.A. area — specifically, in the San Fernando Valley.

Montemayor’s son Paul Tucker told KTLA that he believes the victim went by the name Kiki. “She looked young, but she had been declaring that she was 18,” Tucker said.

The identity and whereabouts of the male suspect in the case, “John Doe,” remain unknown, as does the identity of the victim.

Feds Hunt for Pair in Child Porn Photos

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — Federal authorities are on the hunt for a man and woman they say appear in a series of widely-distributed child pornography photos.

The photos are believed to have been taken about 11 years ago in the San Fernando Valley.

They depict the couple allegedly molesting a teenage girl, roughly age 13.

The woman, whose face is shown in the photos, has several distinctive tattoos, including a black tattoo on her right hip resembling a butterfly.

She also has a tattoo of a curled up cat on her right shoulder blade, a tattoo with words across the top of her left wrist and a tattoo on the upper portion of her left breast.

She and the man, who wears a hood over his face in the photos, have escaped authorities for the past decade.

Now U.S. Attorney Andre Birotte Jr. is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects, referred to as John and Jane Doe.

The series of photos is widely referred to as the ‘Jen’ series. Jen is the pseudonym for the teenage girl, who is now a grown woman and has never been identified.

Authorities report that the photo series has been used in more than 275 child pornography investigations.

Anyone with information about the photos or the suspects wanted by authorities is asked to call the child pornography hotline at 866-347-2423.
