LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — The woman accused in the 2008 slaying of an aspiring model and actress was found not guilty of first- and second-degree murder charges Tuesday.

Kelly Soo Park, 47, had been arrested after Juliana Redding, 21, was found dead in her Santa Monica apartment in 2008.

Redding, a former Maxim magazine model, had ties to Park’s former employer, a West Los Angeles physician and Entrepreneur.

Redding’s father also had business dealings with the physician who’s been out of the country since Park’s arrest.

Park’s DNA was found on Redding’s neck and in other locations in the victim’s apartment.

Park was found not guilty of first-degree murder when a verdict was read about 9:30 a.m.

Jurors went back to deliberate on a lesser charge of second-degree murder. They returned with a not guilty verdict on the second-degree murder charge around 11 a.m.

At that point there was an outburst in the courtroom.

“Young women in the Redding row, which was the second row, began to cry very violently, shrieked ‘You [expletive], you killed her, we know you killed her,’” Lonce LaMon, a courtroom reporter said.

The bailiff then interjected and told the women to calm down, Lamon said, and Park was escorted out of the courtroom.

The verdict came after about a week of deliberations by the jury.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Stacy Okun-Wiese said Redding, 21, was killed by Kelly Soo Park, an associate of a doctor Redding once dated.

Redding was killed five days after her father broke off negotiations on a business deal with her ex-boyfriend, Dr. Munir Uwaydah, prosecutors said in opening statements, and Park’s DNA was discovered on the victim’s neck and clothing and in her apartment.

The prosecutor said detectives were able to determine that DNA found on Redding’s neck, her cellphone, a stove knob and blood from a fingerprint in the home all belonged to a female suspect.
