Wade Strickland was arrested by the police Animal Cruelty Task Force on Feb. 2 after he was seen sexually violating the female German shepherd mix beneath a freeway overpass.
On Tuesday, Strickland pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and lewd conduct and was placed on three years’ probation.
The City Attorney’s office says Strickland has adopted shelter dogs in south Los Angeles in the past and was reported for mistreating the animals.
Witnesses were willing to testify in the latest incident.
Along with probation, the judge prohibited Strickland from owning or possessing any animals.
He must also submit to law enforcement searches at any time and attend 24 animal care counseling sessions.
