WEST HOLLYWOOD (KTLA) — Wet and windy weather may be to blame after a tree snapped and landed on a car in West Hollywood overnight.

KTLA writer Noelle Bellow was along Orange Grove and Fountain avenues around 2 a.m. Sunday when she spotted the smashed car.

The tree blew out the back window of the sedan and laid across two lanes, sending cars into oncoming traffic.

Department of Public Works employees began clearing the tree early Sunday morning.  The road was cleared by 5 a.m.

The driver has not yet come forward.
