SOUTH EL MONTE, Calif. (KTLA) — A man assaulted a woman and forced his way into her home Friday night, according to L.A. County sheriff’s investigators.

The suspect was hiding outside the house when the victim arrived at her home in the 10400 block of Thienes Avenue around 7:00 p.m.

The man punched the woman several times in the face and pushed her into the house.

He proceeded to tie her up, then stole several items from the home.

As the suspect was leaving the residence, the woman chased after him with her hands still bound.

She was taken to the hospital for her injuries, which do not appear to be life-threatening.

Deputies described the man as a Latino man between 25 and 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the sheriff’s Temple Station at 626-285-7171.
