PORTER RANCH, Calif. (KTLmain-picA) — About a dozen homes were without water in Porter Ranch Monday morning due to a water main break.

The break was reported around midnight in Porter Ranch near Bermuda Street and Chimineas Avenue.

The water main broke at a 45 degree angle, causing a 7-inch hold in the street and sending water shooting out toward a house.

The water damaged the living room, bathroom and main entryway of the home.

One vehicle was dented, and another car’s rear window was broken by the force of the water.

DWP crews were actively trying to fix the pipe and the hole in the street so they could restore water to the homes.
