Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Suspected DUI Driver in Rowland Heights

ROWLAND HEIGHTS (KTLA) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver as he crossed a road in Rowland heights early Saturday morning.

The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Colima Road and Otterbein Avenue.

According to California Highway Patrol officials, the man was crossing the street when he was hit by a passing SUV.

Witnesses at the scene said that the man, who has not been identified, may have been a high school student who was part of a school field trip at nearby John A. Rowland High School.

The female driver of the SUV was stopped after the crash and arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

No further information has been released.
