Tourist Murdered in West Covina Attempted Robbery

WEST COVINA, Calif. — A 28-year-old man from Hong Kong was stabbed to death during a suspected robbery in West Covina, police said Saturday.

Police responded to a call of a possible stabbing in the 100 block of North Barranca Avenue about 2:30 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

Officers found a man who had been stabbed in the head, according to a statement by the West Covina Police Department. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspects fled in a vehicle, police said.

Authorities are seeking more information about the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the detectives at (626) 939-8576.
