FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. (KTLA) — Police believe a recent string of early morning home burglaries in Orange County may be connected.

One home burglary and six attempted home burglaries were reported in Fountain Valley in just two days.

The suspects, according to police, are going into the victims’ backyards and checking doors and windows hoping to gain access to the home.

Lt. Matt Sheppard of the Fountain Valley Police Department said “these guys are going in unlocked doors and unlocked windows in both vehicles and residents.”

Another concern for authorities is that the suspects entered, or tried to enter, the homes while the residents were asleep.

“Anytime somebody’s home when there’s a crime is being committed, we don’t know what the suspects are capable of doing,” said Sheppard

Five of the attempted burglaries were reported Feb. 23 and a sixth on Feb. 24.

A burglary was also reported on the 24th in which a wallet, cellphone and car were stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fountain Valley Police Department.
