Glenn T. Ault, M.D., associate dean of the Keck School of Medicine of USC, and Medical Commissioner of the 2013 ASICS LA Marathon joined us to talk about medical tips for runners in the marathon. Tips included: what to wear, how to prevent and treat injuries, how to recover from colds, and what to eat.

Building on a successful partnership in 2012, the Keck Medical Center of USC will once again serve as the official medical team for the 2013 ASICS LA Marathon on Sunday, March 17. As a part of the partnership, hundreds of volunteers, including doctors and staff, will oversee care and treatment to runners. Volunteer physicians will supervise medical staff and supplies at medical tents along the course and provide training to nurses, paramedics, EMTs and athletic training volunteers.

For medical tips or registration visit the ASICS La Marathon website. The marathon is Sunday, March 17, and spots are expected to sell out any day now, so be sure to register today.
