This is the first time that an American has been at the top of the IndyCar standings since 2006. Ryan Hunter-Reay is the driver of the No. 28 DHL / Sun Drop Chevrolet for Andretti Autosport. As the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series Champion Hunter-Reay is one of only 13 worldwide envoys for the ‘Livestrong’ organization and is the founder of ‘Racing for Cancer,’ a charity that raises funds for cancer awareness and research. Hunter-Reay’s car number refers to the 28 million people in the world currently battling cancer.
