Fire Rips Through House in Mid-City Area

LOS ANGELES  (KTLA) — Firefighters knocked down an intense house fire in Mid-City early Friday.

The fire was reported around 2:30 a.m. at a home in the 1800 block of South Orange Grove.

It took 55 firefighters just under an hour to extinguish the flames, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brin Humphrey.

Two firefighters suffered non-life-threatening injuries. There were no civilian injuries.

The house was heavily damaged by the blaze. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
