GRIFFITH PARK (KTLA) — For the first time, a cyclist who lost his leg in a horrific hit-and-run crash is speaking out about the accident that changed his life forever.

On Sunday, February 17, 36-year-old Damian Kevitt was biking with his wife along the L.A. River when they decided to head to Griffith Park.

They were riding westbound on Zoo Drive toward the 5 Freeway.

That’s when a minivan that was stopped in traffic made a sudden left turn and struck Kevitt, according to the California Highway Patrol.
