More Info: 73,000 Baby Cribs Recalled

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall for about 73,000 baby cribs.

The cribs are made in Indonesia by PT Domusindo Perdana and sold by JCPenney.

The recalled models were sold online and by catalog between January 1998 and December 2008.

They have problems with the drop-side rail, which can strangle or trap an infant.

The recall includes the 14 models listed below. The name, model number and date codes are printed on the plywood mattress board.

-343-8070 Roll Bar Convertible Crib 01/2004-12/2005

-343-8155 Anniversary Convertible Sleigh Crib 01/2002-12/2006

There have been three reported  incidents involving drop side rails that malfunctioned or detached. No injuries were reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cribs and contact customer service at Modus Furniture International for a fix-it kit.
