Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Car in Pomona

POMONA, Calif. (KTLA) — An investigation is underway after a bicyclist was struck and killed by a car in Pomona early Monday.

bike-hitThe crash happened around 12:05 a.m. at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Dupont Street.

The bicyclist was traveling eastbound, across the westbound lanes of Valley, at the time of the accident, police said.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Authorities identified the driver as 25-year-old William Johnson, of Beaumont.

It was initially reported that the accident was a hit-and-run, but police now say the driver did stop.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Pomona police at 909-620-2081.
