SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KTLA) — One person was killed and another injured Wednesday during an accident at an industrial site.

Ventura County fire officials were called to site in the 2oo block of West Los Angeles Avenue just after 4 p.m.

It appears workers were loading a huge piece of steel onto a flatbed truck when it fell off.

One worker was able to get out of the way, but a second was not as fortunate.

He was crushed by the 5,000 lb piece of material and was pronounced dead on scene.
