POINT MAGU, Calif. (KTLA) — A man suspected of drunk driving tried to take on a team of officers and deputies Tuesday following a slow-speed pursuit in Ventura County.

CHP officers and L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies followed the suspect westbound on PCH for about a half-hour just before 2 p.m.

Authorities said the suspect swerved onto the wrong side of the road at times during the chase.

Sky 5 was over the scene when the suspect finally came to a stop and forced a confrontation with deputies by walking towards their patrol cars.

Authorities tried to stop the suspect using non-lethal weapons, but he continued to walk towards them.

The man was grabbed from behind by an officer as he approached one of the vehicles.

The suspect put up a fight but was eventually held down and taken into custody by a team of officers.
