LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Dozens of Boston Marathon runners are returning home to Los Angeles today, many of them very close witnesses to the blasts that killed 3 people and injured more than a hundred.

Phil Kent was just steps from the finish line when the first bomb went off just in front of him, and then a second blast occurred just behind him.

“I saw pieces of the building falling on spectators,” said Kent,.

Kent’s group, the LA Leggers, is coming home without any injuries, and grateful, but others know some of the injured.

As for LAX security, it’s the same as yesterday. Most vehicles, like our news van, waved through without inspection.

But bomb-sniffing dogs are all over the place, and you see lots of police.
