Security Tight Across L.A. After Violence in Boston — Sara Welch Reports

Fans lined up outside the the staples center before the start of tonight’s Bon Jovi concert.

“I was a little scared to go to the concert tonight because of everything that happened in Boston.”

If you’ve been among the crowds this week attending Lakers, Clippers or Kings games you’ve probably noticed the increased police presence outside the arena and tonight’s show is no different.

“We are watching from the sky and on the ground in officers in uniform as well non uniform no immediate threat but enjoy the weekend too.”

The Long Beach Grand Prix — one of several events in greater LA this weekend that will draw thousands of people.

And in the wake of the Boston attacks additional cops are on the beat as a precaution.

“It’s needed right now, you don’t know if it’s an isolated event in Boston, we know we have Americas finest here as well.”

We know surveillance cameras are everywhere these days — but police also remind people not to let their guard down and to keep a watchful eye for anything suspicious.

“Definitely, obviously every little person with a backpack or something suspicious always looking out.”
