Brush Fire Burns Dangerously Close to Homes

MENTONE, Calif. (KTLA) — A brush fire broke out Friday near Highway 38 and Mill Creek Road in San Bernardino County.

The blaze scorched about 350 acres, according to Cal Fire officials, although no structures had been damaged.

Mandatory evacuations were in place for residents north of Carter Street and west of Bryant Street in Yucaipa.

They were later lifted as fire crews contained the blaze.

There was no word on what may have caused the fire.
