Vandals Knock Over 71 Mailboxes in Corona

CORONA, Calif. (KTLA) — Corona police were searching on Tuesday for the drivers of two vehicles who knocked down 71 mailboxes in a residential area.

The incidents, one of which was captured on video by a home security camera, occurred about 2 a.m. in:

– the 1100 block of Via Ixtapa,

– the 3000 block of Via Mazatlan,

– the 1200 block of Stephanie Drive,

– and the 1200 block of Bridgeport Road, according to Sgt. Kim Velasco of the Corona Police Department.

A black-and-white video uploaded to YouTube, apparently by a resident, shows a person exiting a car and kicking a mailbox until it falls over.

Police described the vandals’ vehicles as a black truck and a silver car.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents was asked to call the Corona Police Department at (951) 736-2334.
