Knife-Wielding Man Sought in Repeat Robberies at OC Subway

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KTLA) — Police were asking for the public’s help Thursday in identifying a man wanted for robbing one Subway restaurant four times in the past several weeks.

subway-robberThe most recent incident occurred Tuesday just before 11 p.m. at the Subway restaurant in the 2600 block of West Edinger Avenue.

The employees were in the back of the restaurant when the man entered, according to Santa Ana police.

He jumped over the front counter and confronted the employees with a knife demanding cash.

“He’s brazen, Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.  “He always jumps over the front counter.  It’s obvious he’s getting more comfortable.”

The robber was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, about 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with a medium build, and wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information was urged to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS (1-855-847-6227).
