(KTLA) — A major producer of pet food has recalled some of its products due to fears of a salmonella contamination, health officials said.

Procter & Gamble voluntarily recalled some dog and cat food products sold under the Iams and Eukanuba labels.

The company noted that “no Salmonella-related illnesses have been reported to date in association with these product lots,” adding that the recall was ordered as a precaution.

The possibly contaminated pet food is labeled with best by dates in November 2014, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
