GRIFFITH PARK, Calif. (KTLA) — In an effort to cut down on car-related crimes, Los Angeles officials on Tuesday were introducing a new “reminder” sign campaign in Griffith Park.

New signs warn visitors not to leave valuables behind in cars at Griffith Park.

L.A. City Councilmember Tom Labonge and LAPD officials planned to hold a news conference to unveil newly installed “Lock It, Hide It, Keep It” signs.

In all, 18 signs have gone up to remind park visitors to lock their vehicles, hide any valuables and keep property with them when leaving the car.

There were 17 car-related crimes in June and July alone at Griffith Park, according to police.
