Two Dead, One Wounded in South L.A. Shooting

HYDE PARK, Calif. — Police were looking for suspects Tuesday night in a gang-related shooting that left two men dead and another critically wounded.

The victims were shot about 4 p.m. as they stood in the 2700 block of West 64th Street in Hyde Park. A vehicle pulled up and at least one attacker started shooting, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Police said the two men who died were in their mid-20s. The victim who was wounded was hit as he tried to flee. He also was in his mid-20s, according to the LAPD.

Witnesses told The Times they heard heard numerous gunshots during the attack.  “There were two shots then about 20 consecutive shots after that,” one woman said.
