2 Killed, 2 Wounded in Shooting at Long Beach Party

An investigation was underway Saturday in Long Beach after four people were shot during a birthday party at a duplex, authorities said.

The shooting occurred around 9:54 p.m. Friday in the 6500 block of Rose Ave. near the 91 freeway, according to Long Beach police.

Officers dispatched to the area found Sophon Kao, 26, and Jerry Chim, 24, with gunshot wounds.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.  Two women were also hit with gunfire.  They were rushed to local hospitals and were in serious but stable condition, according to Long Beach police.

The killer reportedly opened fire on the four victims, who were sitting in an alcove beside the home.

Neighbors told KTLA 5 wild parties are frequently held at the residence where the shooting happened.
