Multi-Vehicle Crash in Dana Point Leaves 2 Dead, 3 Injured

A four-vehicle collision in Dana Point left two people dead and three injured Sunday, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 1:22 p.m. on Coast Highway between Beach Road and Camino Capistrano, said Captain Steve Concialdi, spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority.

The deceased victims were dead when emergency personnel arrived at the scene.

The three injured were transported to Mission Regional Trauma Center, Concialdi said. Another person who suffered mild injuries declined to be taken to a hospital.

Photos released by the OCFA showed debris and the wreckage of multiple vehicles on the highway, and a van overturned on its side.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department officials were at the scene and conducting an investigation.
